Yeah, so, as pissed off as I was, that's all it took to cool me down.
I am still a little ticked that somehow it appears my fault to some people. Yet, I am willing to forgive and forget becasue we all know what really happened.
Ah well, life goes on. It just helps to know that there are people willing to listen, and to understand (if they didn't udnersand before, they do now--although there are many who understood before). Thank you to everyone who lent an ear. It really means a lot to me. As well, I hope you know that this is not going to be the last time this year...hopefully the last time this semester, though!
Anyway, in other, far mroe important news:
My parents were in town this weekend. They took 5 of my friends and I to see Freddy Cole do a Christmas tribute to Nat King Cole. It was AMAZING!!!!! I would have liked a few more Christmas songs, but the four that there were were phenomenal! Life was good, and we all (my friends and I atleast) appreciated "real" food again. We were just impressed to be eating pasta that was not ramen or spaghetti o's!
It helped to cool off. Also, a HUGE thank you to the room I stayed in last night. I won't reveal names online, but a big, big, BIG thank you for getting me out of a slimy situation! It was GREATLY appreciated. As well, thanks for the shower this morning, it was quite loverly!
In finals news:
I finished one paper! Murder in Antiquity (and yes, it is as fun as it sounds!). Two more papers and two more finals left to go (one of which is Ancient Greek--yippee!).
Ancient Greek: Tuesday 12/12 11-1
Angry/Black/Feminist/(Fesbian): Tuesday 12/12 paper due by 5
Intellectual Heritage: Wednesday 12/13 11-1
Murder in Antiquity: Thursday 12/14 paper due by 2:40 (it's done, just sitting on my desk waiting to be turned in)
Religion and Society: Thursday 12/15 paper due by 4:40
Hope life has gone a little more smoothly for you than it has for me! Also, hoping that you all have a bit more fun than I will with my trusty laptop and bag-o-books getting ready for all these finals.
CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!!!!!!Wishing many happy days with loved one around this time of the year!

R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Find out what it means to me:
So, I have a futon. It is very nice, all wood construction, quite sturdy, thick mattress, just the right size for my tiny apartment. It is put together (I know because I did it myself) with screws and studs that are very sturdy and fitted snuggly in place (very hard to put in, in fact). It has lasted me three months. I like it very much. I also spent a pretty penny on it--even having gotten an upgrade for a thicker mattress (an extra 50 dollars).
This morning I came out to find it completely smashed. Now, I know it did not happen over night. We had a good size split in one of the planks for about a month now. But this morning I took the mattress off to readjust the base to fix the issue, you know, not strain the wood, and I found the other side completly split through! When I tried to reposition it to last until my parents got here to fetch a new one (I don't have transportation to IKEA from here on my own)....it fell apart in my hands.
I have no idea how it happened. Honestly, I don't know. All I know is that I woke up at 10:00 yesterday and did not return to the room for any good length of time until about 12:30 when I came home and fell into bed, sleeping until I woke up this morning. I also know that everytime I get up (paranoid as I am) I check the futon to make sure that it is in order. And, every time I get up it is.
AND, everything that has been broken on it (at any given time) has only been after a length of time when I know that I am not in my room (nor any of my friends) but my roommate has been (with his friends). I hate to point fingers, I really do--it causes confrontation against which I wholeheartedly am. However, I think that in this case it is justified. I know it is not me or my friends (though we are in the room more), because I have been there all of those times paranoid-ed-ly (word?) tending to it.
Ah well, life goes on...I guess people will have to get used to sitting on the floor, because I'll be damned if I put forth that kind of money to purchase something that people will not respect and which they will smash.
Thanks for listening!

Life was Good, but Now it's even Better!
Okay, so life has been VERY busy, and I have been completely swamped with things from paper writing, to translations, to campus ministry evangelism (not the yucky kind, of course). But it is getting even better.
I mean, it is still completely hectic and I am completely drowning in work. But my friends and I are completely okay with that! We have been having a blast! Last night we watched a couple of Christmas movie and had some fun celebrating the last day of classes. All day we "worked." I mean, we didn't really work but I did get some work done...all the wrong kind. I mean, I have a women's studies paper that is due on Tuesday. However, I wrote a paper that is due on Thursday during my three hours in the library today. Oh, well. Life goes on.
Tomorrow, I am planning on getting up muy earlioso to do laundry and write a paper at the same time. Ah, the powers of multi-tasking...the bonuses of being a college student!
Of course, tomorrow evening promises to be exciting with a group of six college kids and my parents going to a Christmas concert by Freddy Cole (brother of Nat King)! Looking forward to that.
Okay, well, I have to go play in the snow now!
Happiness for y'all, if only for now!
